Support: Customization
There are several levels of customization available within IMPACT.
First, IMPACT was professionally designed and written with the premise that different organizations have different needs. So, IMPACT allows you to establish and maintain most, if not all, of your organization's data without actually customizing IMPACT itself. Here are a list of options:
1. Descriptive codes are maintained in tables accessible by your administrator. You define and maintain these codes based upon your own needs and preferences. These include patron Benefit Types (newsletter, annual report, tickets, etc.), Patron Attribute Categories (e.g. language, health, hobbies, interests, etc.), Patron Membership Categories (e.g. individual, family, etc.), activity Role (e.g. teacher, assistant, volunteer, participant, guest, etc.) and many, many more.
2. There are four user-defined fields for each activity, and four user-defined fields for each patron. You can enter any generic data into each of these.
3. IMPACT allows you to select patron data using the Inquiry/Mail subsystem, and then export that data to Excel. You can create totals, print reports, or modify or manipulate this data in any way you choose using the full capabilities of Excel.
4. If you have a requirement that has wide appeal, SDS will program a solution to your requirement at no charge, as long as you agree to make the solution available to all of SDS's clients as part of IMPACT.
5. If none of these options will solve your problem, IMPACT also has available a separate "user" database that allows you complete access to all of your data. You have the full capabilities of Access to create new tables, queries, forms, reports, etc.

A Testimonial from Tom Olbrich
"We have found IMPACT easy to use. Upon installation, we immediately began entering and tracking many different components of our business. It provides a great history of all activities, makes reporting easy, and allows for several different approaches to organizing and reporting. All in all, it is a great tool for inputting, tracking, and maintaining all of our patron’s information and gave us an inexpensive boost to taking our small nonprofit to the next level organization."
